And Wedding Season 2016 begins...Ready, Set, Go!

Next weekend I will be headed out of town to Hilton Head Island for my first wedding of the 2016 season. Weddings are my specialty and my favorite thing to shoot. That being said, they always proove to be a crazy unpredictable day and they are alot of very hard work! It always starts with those getting ready shots and worrying about the bride running late with hair and makeup, then, are the flowers going to arrive for bridal portraits, are the guys going to be ready on time, where are the rings for the detail shots, etc. I Love every minute of it! Sure people steel my shots with their smartphones and have them on facebook before I can even get home, but hey, mine are better. Sure, mom of the bride requests more group photos than the bride has on her list and I'm running out of time to shoot the bride and grooms photos together, but hey its her day,not mine. Sure we had to do bridal portraits in the parking lot of the church because its noon and there is no shade to be found, but hey, we made it work. Then comes the reception with its father daughter dance, first dance, mother son dance, cake cutting, boquet toss, garter toss( the groom has usually had many adult beverages by this time and is not listening to me) and photographing the same 5 people dancing over and over again! And Last, hours and hours and hours in front of the computer with lightroom and photoshop editing. And as I said before, I love every minute of it! The happines, the love, the exitement, the nerves. After its all said and done, my photos are all thats left from all the hard work and planning. Its my goal to produce images that will make the bride and groom smile and remember this day with love. So, happy wedding season and If you attend a wedding this year, give the photographer a hug!

Caroline at 7 months

There are so many perks to being a grandma who loves childrens photography. One of those is that all my daughter in law's friends bring their babies to be photographed. Caroline and her Mommy, Wendy, came to me through my sweet daughter in law Lauren. She and Wendy are fellow nurses and friends. Wendy is such a sweet and caring person and baby Caroline is sure to be just like her. She has a great start, she has her mommy's red hair. Caroline rocked her 7 month photo session with lots of sweet smiles!

Our Sweet Lilli

Most of the time when I compose a blog post it is hard to write about the person or the couple because in most cases, I have only know them a very short time. Not in this case, Lilli is my great niece. I usually just call her my niece because "great niece" makes me sound really old! Her mom Laura and I have always been very close so naturally I am close to Lilli as well. This little girl is the youngest of five children, four boys and Lilli! She is one girly girl! Her personality is full of sass. Not only is she a beautiful child, she is very bright. The thing that strikes me the most about Lilli is that she has one of the kindest hearts I have ever seen. On the day we took these photos, we made a princess dress and literally had glitter ALL over the house! And by the way, she chose her own poses! Reach for the stars my sweet girl, you can do and be anything you want, but never loose the kindness that you have in your heart for others. I love you my baby!

Andrew + Taylor, a Pooles Mill Park Engagement Session

At every Bridal show I participate in, I give away a free engagement session. This years winner was Taylor and her fiance Andrew. We decided to go to Pooles Mill Park for their session and it happened to be a late Winter day with perfect Spring weather! We had a great time and I loved meeting Taylor and Andrew and working with them. After all, perfect weather, beautiful light, water, a covered bridge and couple in love, what else could you ask for?!

Sweet Sisters

The best part of photographing children is watching them grow and building relationships with the family. I love the Corbins so much, Elizabeth and Kris have been such loyal clients, from their wedding a few years ago to giving me the pleasure of photographing both of their daughters. Oh, the sass that these girls have! Kris, you are in TROUBLE!! And, can you believe the eyes on these girls?!
